Craft 64 in Scottsdale named top new AZ hot spot

Scottsdale is known for its showy nightclubs and high-end restaurants, but Arizona’s hottest new destination is a place that serves pizza and beer.

Craft 64, a casual restaurant known for its wood-fired pizza and extensive craft beer list, is on Nightclub & Bar’s list of Top-Rated New Hot Spots from 2015, representing Arizona.

Nightclub & Bar is a national authority on the nightlife industry, and the company’s media group partnered with Yelp, the popular user-submitted review site, to gather the highest-rated new bars, nightclubs and lounges in the country. Yelp then narrowed it down to one venue in each state and Washington, D.C. Craft 64 has an average 4.5-star rating on Yelp with 146 reviews.

Open since August 2014, it features local art on the walls and a friendly atmosphere that makes it a popular hangout in downtown Scottsdale. There are 36 Arizona brews on tap at any given time, and owner and sommelier Josh Ivey oversees the wine list. The food menu features a variety of wood-fired pizzas, from the simple Margarita (fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce) to the more adventurous Fico (buratta, mozzarella, truffle oil, fig sauce, arugula and Parmigiano-Reggiano).
