A new Scottsdale-based mobile app is connecting local home chefs with hungry clients who want a delicious home-cooked meal delivered to their home.
ChefKiss is the new meal delivery service that is hiring more than 100 local chefs in Tempe and Scottsdale who can cook a variety of dishes in their home kitchens.
“We’re looking for anyone who loves to cook,” said ChefKiss founder Joseph Lazukin, 24, who grew up in Mesa and Chandler and now lives in Scottsdale. “Chefs can list what they’re making that day and then make some money off of it. For example, lasagna is impossible to just make for one person. The chef can list a slice for $10.”
Customers can see available meals through the app and order one for on-demand delivery.
“Chain restaurants all taste the same,” said Lazukin. “You can order a burger from a restaurant, or from a home cook.”
Home chefs also can make some money with dishes they’re already cooking for their families and provide meals to other people.
It all started with…
An empty stomach and a trip to the local grocery store. The idea of having to cook, although fun, can also be a rather daunting task after a long day. Considering the options, eating healthy although possible, requires some leg work, and when you’re hungry, you’re hungry!
…and that’s when the lightbulb went off.
What if you could pick up home cooked meals on demand from local chefs? We all remember visiting our friends or distant family, and the awesome food around the table, so why not make that into a business?
And that is how ChefKiss was born!
Help people discover new local foods and favorites in their community. We hope that by increasing the availability of options that people will not only discover new foods, but also grow tighter as a community.
Additionally, by providing a platform for local chefs to be discovered, it is our hope that much-needed income can find it’s way to those who’s raw talent can benefit their families, during tough economic times.
