Somebody help: A rainbow grilled cheese exists and it’s happening far, far away.
It seems that the Internet’s fascination with rainbow-colored food is never-ending. But unlike many foods before it, the latest rainbow food fad isn’t sugary at all. Can you guess the flavors in this beautiful new sandwich creation?
(Not that a classic grilled cheese needs improvement or anything, but if you can shoot it up with magic rainbow unicorn colors, why not?)
This melty, gooey pile of Lisa Frank-dyed cheese is happening only at Kala Toast in Hong Kong, from what I can tell, so I’m going to have to live with enjoying the Instagrams for now.
According to @hkfoodiexblogger, the rainbow grilled cheese toast costs 42 HKD, or a little over $5. The different colors have different flavors: “lavender (blue), basil (green), tomato (red) and the yellow one is actually the combination of 4 kinds of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, emmental and gruyere).”
According to this video, the cheese is naturally colored; a fact which only serves to make this sandwich even more magical than it already was. I’m just sad it’s only available in Hong Kong because I’d really like to try one! What about you?
