Two Valley restaurants are among OpenTable’s 100 Hottest Restaurants in America.
Culinary Dropout in Tempe and SumoMaya Mexican-Asian Kitchen in Scottsdale made the 2016 list, which is based on diner reviews. The online restaurant-reservation company analyzed more than 5 million reviews of 20,000 restaurants across the country, looking specifically for the hip, new spots that are creating buzz in their respective cities.

A stylish Scottsdale spot with vibrant decor and a Latin-meets-Asia- focused menu that features tacos like tempura cod and spicy tuna; wok-made dishes such as pork al pastor pad Thai; as well as ceviche and sushi rolls. Restaurateur German Osio’s eatery offers both happy hour and late-night social hour, brunch and refreshing cocktails such as the frozen Sumo-Rita, Superfruit Sangria and Jalapeño Monk. A Fox Restaurant Concept, also has locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale. The gastropub offers an edgy, laid-back environment compared to other Fox restaurants. The Tempe branch is part of The Yard at Farmer Arts District, a popular hangout off bustling Mill Avenue, featuring a massive patio, lawn games and regular live music. The menu features hearty sandwiches and salads, cheeses and charcuterie, entrees like pork belly ramen and fried chicken, and appetizers including soft pretzels and provolone fondue. The cocktail, beer and wine selection is creative and extensive.
